Driving Questions to Ponder
|
Learning ObjectivesWe will fill in learning objectives (LO) on the evidence log before starting Big Idea 4. LO are what you need to know & how to do for Big Idea 4. After finishing units on Big Idea 4,please complete the Learning Objective Evidence Log.

All lab report need to follow the lab + poster rubric. Any related activities to the main lab does not require lab report.
*Animal Behavior Lab
(old ap lab book - Lab 11) a. video - watch night before the lab b. so the Test is positive c. study Chi Square (BI1: Evolution) Lab 10: Energy Dynamics
Lab 11: Transpiration
Extension: Calculate the stomata density after the transpiration lab. Count number of stomata open/close before/after? Prediction?
To calculate surface area or (one small/one medium/one large) --> single leaf weight/single SA = total weight/total SA Hint: To measure the surface are of a leaf, trace on a graph paper and count squares. Alternative to whole plant: Obtain two or more sturdy leaf and place them in individual graduated cylinders. Add 10mL water in graduated cylinder then add oil to cover the water exposed (keep from evaporating). Measure water throughout the day (2 hour interval). |

Hawaiian Ecology - Rabbit Island ("Manana")Using species on Rabbit Island on Oahu, we will review ecology.
Lesson 1. Food Web/Chain
Background Information
Lesson 2. Ecological Pyramid & Carbon Cycle
Lesson 3. Restoration Ecology
See the restoration effort in New Zealand. Divide the paper into parts and in groups translate language into regular language. Then discuss some possibilities for Manana.
